Horses are synonymous with Noordhoek and the Tack Shop has a similar relationship to Noordhoek Farm Village. The Tack Shop was one of the first retail shops to open at the village has been going strong since 1996! At the beginning of September 2012, passionate Noordhoek resident, rider and horse-show mum Alex Otto took over the operation of Noordhoek Village Tack &Trading Post, ably assisted by her daughter Dominique.
This duo are realising a dream and will continue to cater for “horses, hounds & hooligans”. The shop is well stocked products for competitors or recreational riders. Some stock is imported but the aim is always to source local products first!
Noordhoek Village Tack carries saddles, bridles, bits, spurs, as well as a range of equestrian clothing from breeches to helmets to boots. If you need something for your horse, there are horse blankets, grooming supplies, supplements and even treats! Noordhoek Tack’s goal is to ensure you get everything you need and try to help you stay on budget so if you need something pop in and ask!
They also stock a wonderful range of leather goods (hats, bags, boots and belts).
The most recent batch of new stock arrivals included: Dublin riding boots, awesome Red Haute Horse halters, Yellow Dog Range of Harness’s, collars and leads, ELT show jackets, beautiful Weather Beeta blankets, show sheets and exercise sheets and lots more!
Gifts & Novelty items remain part of the offering at the Tack Shop. Incidentally Alex has a another passion which is painting. You will see her work displayed in the store and all paintings are available for purchase (and she even takes commissions for private paintings).
Alex has a vision to provide an educational component in addition to quality merchandise at the Noordhoek Village Tack Shop. She is looking to set up a series of talks and events guiding horse owners to make good choices related to horse nutrition, safety, wellbeing amongst other topics.
